Giulio Gonella is an architect and educator, currently a PhD candidate in Architecture, History and Project at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He is completing a dissertation on plantation ecologies and the environmental-colonial continuum in North Sumatra, Indonesia. His other research interests include border violence, regimes of visuality, and the evidentiary life of images. His writing has appeared in Volume, Dérivations, lo Squaderno, Il Giornale dell’Architettura, and the art forum L’Internationale Online.
