Dewi Tan is a Yale School of Environment graduate with a focus on sociocultural and environmental issues surrounding modernity, urban inequality, and water-related crises in Indonesia. She currently works at the Ambasz Institute at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) overseeing the research and public programs dedicated to advancing the relationship between the study of the built and natural environment. Her other interests include media studies and the production of disaster narratives. As a filmmaker, she seeks to complement her research with visual media in hopes of engaging with a wider audience through “multilingual” dialogue. Dewi lives between Singapore and New York City.
